|VANCOUVER, November 2005
Canadian shoe designer John Fluevog announces the release of a very exciting new boot from an exciting joint project. Coming late-November for Music and Fashion lovers alike, John Fluevog Shoes and Courtney Taylor Taylor of The Dandy Warhols will be launching...
John and Courtney have gone through the design process and have finally approved and sent the project off to production, to be in Fluevog Stores and online (fluevog.com & dandywarhols.com) by the end of November.
John Fluevog’s designs have always been well represented in the music and arts community, and the two Pacific Northwestern organizations seemed a perfect fit for collaboration. “It was a fun experience right from the get go – the two of us connected in the strangest places around the world to go over the most recent design”, said John. “I always like doing things with people who share a similar enduring vibe – whether it be in fashion, music or design.”
"I was wearing Fluevogs when I was a kid (when Love and Rockets was still being played on the radio) and so I was really excited when John called” remarked Courtney Taylor Taylor of The Dandy Warhols. “The boot itself was something that I always wanted SOMEBODY to make for as long as I can remember - a sort of Cowboy boot with the upper of an English Riding Boot."
The two saw eye to eye right away in terms of what they were looking to achieve with the boot. “Courtney wanted a classic boot that was really sleek, no bull with nice lines – this fit perfect into our current collection.”
The Western styled boot carries the classic styles and lines with a Fluevog twist. With a stacked, Cuban-inspired heel, rich analine leather and an adjustable buckle, the Dandy Warhol boot is perfect for riding from Fashion week to the Grammys.
The Dandy Warhol Boot will retail for US $329/CAN $419, and comes in men’s sizes 7-13. Available at John Fluevog Stores and online at www.fluevog.com & www.dandywarhols.com
